Beneath a boiling sea, a fire spirit has broken his five-hundred-year pact. Ayaka and Kokomi set out on a mission to put him back to sleep.

Prologue
I
Far beneath the islands, where the seabed turns to old volcanic stone, lies Magma Hollow. Five centuries ago a fire spirit named Pyrrhos agreed to sleep there and keep the island's fire asleep with him. In return, the sea shrine sent him a yearly offering of salt and snow.
II
This summer the offerings stopped. The tides turned warm, then hot. The sakura along the coast withered in a single night and ash fell on the shrine like black snow. Deep below, the Scorched Sovereign had woken, and he had forged himself a shield of living flame: the Blazing Aegis.
III
Ayaka came from the capital with her blade and her fan. Kokomi came from the coral isles with the tide at her back. Water alone boils against him and frost alone melts, but soak him and then chill him, and even a sovereign freezes. Together, they descend into the Hollow.
The Heroines
Cryo · Melee
Shirasagi Himegimi, daughter of Inazuma's Kamisato Clan and the Yashiro Commission
A swordswoman who fights up close. Her plain slashes are physical, so they need her fan's frost to hurt the Aegis and to set up Freeze.
Three quick slashes and a spinning finish. Hits only land within reach of Pyrrhos; if he is just out of range she takes a short step in, and further away you will see "Too far". Every hit charges her burst.
An icy gust leaves her fan and sweeps into Pyrrhos, scattering any fireballs in its path, chilling him with Cryo and dropping energy orbs. For the next 6 seconds her blade is frost-infused: slashes turn icy, deal Cryo damage, hit 15% harder, apply Cryo and chip the Aegis.
A 3-second blizzard howls around her. It strikes hard as it forms, keeps hitting Pyrrhos while he is inside it and blows away fireballs. While it rages her sword hits 2.2× harder with longer reach, and she takes 40% less damage.
Play her: let Kokomi soak him, then Frostfan Gale and a frost-infused combo to Freeze him, and cut into the brittle ice.
Hydro · Ranged support
Divine Priestess of Watatsumi Island, who leads its people from Sangonomiya Shrine
A healer who fights from anywhere in the cave. Her hits are light, but every one of them carries water, which makes her the fastest way through the Aegis.
Two drifting bubbles per attack, four on the finish, that float to Pyrrhos from any distance and pop against him. Each one applies Hydro and takes a point off the Aegis.
Summons a water koi that circles above Pyrrhos for 6 seconds: a splash when it arrives, then a steady stream of water bolts. It keeps attacking after you switch to Ayaka, keeping him soaked for her frost.
A tide rolls out from her to the walls of the cave, striking Pyrrhos once, washing away fireballs and healing both heroines. For 3 seconds afterwards her Tidal Blessing makes every attack heal both of them a little more.
Play her: cast Tide Sprite and switch to Ayaka; the koi keeps him wet while she freezes him. Save the tide for when both health bars dip.
Rules of the Hollow
Cryo on a soaked boss, or Hydro on a chilled one, locks him in ice for 3.2s. He can't act, takes 30% more damage, and can't be refrozen for 4s after he thaws.
He wreathes himself in Pyro whenever he attacks. Cryo on his flames Melts for 1.5× damage; Hydro Vaporizes for 2×.
His rock hide blocks 20% of plain damage on Normal and 40% on Hard. Reactions pierce half of it.
At 55% and 25% health he raises a fire shield and his health cannot drop. Physical hits are blocked; each Cryo or Hydro hit removes one point (54 / 69 / 90 by difficulty). Breaking it stuns him for 5.5s.
Press 1 or 2 to swap heroines (0.8s). Cooldowns keep ticking off-field, energy orbs give the benched heroine 60%, and if one falls the other steps in.
Space jumps over ground attacks, C dashes with a moment of invulnerability, and Shift runs. Dashing and running use stamina.
